Announcing Concise!

Hello there everyone! We hope you're having a non-negative response to Sol's current level of atmospheric heating! It sure is weather-like in some places on the globe!

Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, here is another pleasant thing! Team Octocon are organising an evening-long convention called Concise this coming May 10th! Huzzah!

We'll have such excellent guests as Michael Carroll (2000 AD, Quantum Prophecy), C.E. Murphy (The Walker Papers), and Peadar Ó Guilín (The Inferior) taking part in our singular panel, a short reading of a classic piece of speculative fiction, a screening of one Golden Blasters film, and more!*

We'll also be taking memberships for Octocon 2012 if you happen to want to grab one while you're there. ;)

All this will take place in Exchange Dublin (Exchange Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2) from 7pm and it's FREE! Bring your friends and prepare to be dazzled by how brilliant conventions can be!**

We can't wait to see you all there!

A Christmas Message From The Production Of "Victory?"

Ahhh Christmas here at the towers... And while some of us are hanging up our stockings, and thinking of sugarplumbs dancing in our heads, others, like John Vaughan, are working out just how to capture the fall of humankind, and the logistics of deathcamps on screen. So here's a quick Yuletide message from our favourite director:

"Sorry for the lack of updates, but we are deep in the middle of post-production. The shoot for Victory? took place on the 10th and the 11th of December in Ballincollig and the Elysian tower in Cork, and went virtually without a hitch save for the moments where we managed to freak out passersby (it's liberating to be covered from head to toe in blood while wishing people a 'good morning'). Next month we'll have a very interesting giveaway for a lucky few who regularly come to (that's right, free stuff!) so until then, I'll quote the leader of The Alliance, and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year (because Happy Holidays is what terrorists say!)."
